Privacy Policy

In simple terms, we respect your privacy.

What you share in this app stays private. Your personal situations are not sold, not shared, and not exposed to other users. Your input is only used to give you accurate insight and improve your experience inside the app. If you create an account, your email may be used for account-related communication and occasional updates. You can opt out at any time. Everything you share is meant to stay within your experience inside the app.

1. What You Share in the App

When you use Ask Dr. Linq, you may share information related to your situation, the person you are tracking, or your relationship experiences.

This can include:

  • Situations and relationship events you describe

  • Messages or conversations you want help interpreting

  • Diary entries and personal reflections

  • Basic account details like your name and email

  • Preference criteria you select when using the Dating Pool Analyzer, which may include demographic categories such as age range, race/ethnicity preference, height, body type, income range, education level, occupation, marital status, children status, smoking preference, and location

You are in control of what you choose to share.

2. How Your Input Is Used

What you enter into the app is used to:

  • Generate responses and relationship insights

  • Power relationship tracking systems

  • Build summaries and timeline analysis

  • Support pattern recognition features

  • Personalize your experience inside the app

  • Manage your credits and account functionality

  • Generate demographic estimates when you use the Dating Pool Analyzer tool

Save and organize tracked situations and diary entries

Your personal situations are not used for advertising or shared with other users.

3. Your Privacy

We do not sell your personal relationship data, diary entries, or submitted situations to advertisers or other users.

Your information is used only to operate app features, generate insights, improve your experience, and maintain your account functionality.

Your private entries - such as your situations, diary entries, saved responses, and Live Chat conversations - are not visible to other users and are not publicly displayed. The one exception is the Tree of Encouragement, an optional public community feature: messages you choose to post there can be visible to other users, as described in the Tree of Encouragement section below.

4. Diary Entries and Relationship Tracking

Ask Dr. Linq allows you to log diary entries, emotional experiences, interactions, and relationship events over time.

These entries may be used to:

Generate trend insights

Detect recurring relationship patterns

Build timeline-based summaries

Improve long-term context within tracked situations

Create personalized behavioral observations

Your diary entries remain tied to your account experience and are not publicly visible to other users.

5. Intelligent Insights and Pattern Analysis

Some features inside Ask Dr. Linq analyze relationship situations over time using automated pattern recognition systems and advanced contextual interpretation.

This may include:

  • Trend direction

  • Behavioral pattern recognition

  • Relationship summaries

  • Red flag indicators

  • LINQ scores

  • Emotional consistency observations

These insights are generated automatically based on the information submitted inside the app.

They are designed to provide guidance, reflection, and perspective, not factual determinations or professional advice.

To produce these insights, the messages, conversations, screenshots, diary entries, and relationship situations you submit may be processed by artificial intelligence (AI), including trusted third-party AI providers acting on our behalf. These providers process your content only to return the requested analysis and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

They are designed to provide guidance, reflection, and perspective, not factual determinations or professional advice.

5A. Dating Pool Analyzer

The Dating Pool Analyzer is an optional tool that generates a demographic estimate of your potential dating pool based on preference criteria you choose to enter. When you use this tool:

  • The criteria you select - including any demographic inputs such as race/ethnicity preference, age range, height, income, education, or location - are used only to run your requested estimate and display your results.

  • Your selections are not used to build a demographic profile of you, are not used for advertising, and are not shared with third parties for any purpose.

  • Race/ethnicity preference and all other demographic inputs are user-initiated filter selections. They are processed with the same care as other information you submit in the app.

  • Results are statistical estimates for informational and entertainment purposes only. They are not matchmaking results, compatibility scores, or predictions of any kind.

6. Uploaded Conversations and Screenshots

You may upload screenshots, conversations, messages, or written interactions for analysis.

These uploads may contain third-party content or personal conversations.

By uploading content, you confirm you have the right to submit the material for analysis inside the app.

Uploaded content is processed only to generate insights and improve the requested feature experience, and may be processed by trusted third-party AI providers solely to return the analysis you request.

Image uploads are entirely voluntary. The app only analyzes the specific images you choose to select; it does not access, scan, or analyze any other photos in your library.

Ask Dr. Linq does not use uploaded content to identify or contact any third party.

6A. Live Chat Conversations and Continuity Memory

Ask Dr. Linq includes a Live Chat feature that lets you have back-and-forth conversations with the app's AI about your situations.

To make this feature work and to keep guidance consistent over time, we store and process your Live Chat conversations in the following ways:

  • Your Live Chat messages are saved to your account so sessions can be paused and resumed

  • When a Live Chat session ends, the app automatically generates a short written summary of that conversation

  • These conversation summaries, together with key points distilled from your entries and chats, are retained as ongoing memory

  • This stored memory may be reused to give the AI context in your future responses, summaries, and Live Chat sessions, so guidance stays consistent and personalized over time

  • This continuity memory is generated automatically from information you submit. It is tied to your account, is not visible to other users, and is not used for advertising.

When you delete your account, your stored conversations, summaries, and related memory are removed as described in the Account Deletion and Stored Data section.

6B. Tree of Encouragement (Public Community Posts)

The Tree of Encouragement is a public, community-style feature intended for users 18 years of age or older, where you can share short written messages with other app users.

If you submit a Tree of Encouragement message, the app stores:

  • The message text

  • Your user account identifier

  • The timestamp of the message

  • Heart and report activity related to the message

  • Whether you chose to show your name

If you choose to show your name, the app may display your current profile first name alongside your message. If you choose not to show your name, no name label is shown publicly.

The app does not display your email address on the Tree of Encouragement.

Report activity may be stored to help us review safety issues.

Tree of Encouragement messages may be visible to other app users unless they are removed, hidden, or deleted according to app rules.

Because these messages are public, you should not include private or sensitive personal information in Tree of Encouragement messages.

Tree of Encouragement content is intentionally public and is not treated as private journal content. Other users of the Ask Dr. Linq app can view messages you submit to the Tree of Encouragement.

If you delete your account, Tree of Encouragement posts associated with your account will also be removed.

The Tree of Encouragement is intended for users 18 years of age or older. Before entering this feature for the first time, the app displays a notice confirming that messages may be visible to other Ask Dr. Linq users and that this space is intended for adults. Entry requires acknowledging this notice.

If you select "I Am 18 or Older" within that notice, the app stores that acknowledgment with your account so this notice is not shown again unless the notice is materially updated in a future release.

7. Storage and Access

Your data may be securely stored so you can:

  • Revisit saved responses

  • Track situations over time

  • Access your diary history

  • Review relationship insights

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, though no system is completely guaranteed to be secure.

8. Your Control

You stay in control of your account.

You can:

  • Delete your account at any time

  • Request your data be removed

  • Stop using the app whenever you choose

For record and account-related purposes, your email may be retained.

9. Account Deletion and Stored Data

If you delete your account, your saved responses, tracked situations, conversation history, diary entries, profile information, passcodes, and all stored account data are permanently removed.

Free credits and purchased credit packs are permanently and irrecoverably lost on account deletion. Active Apple or Google subscriptions may be restored through the platform's Restore Purchases feature after creating a new account; subscription credits will return with the restored subscription.

Your email address is permanently recorded as ineligible for a second round of free credits, even if you re-register with the same address.

Certain limited records may be temporarily retained for security, fraud prevention, payment reconciliation, legal compliance, or abuse prevention purposes.

10. Email and Communication

If you create an account, your email may be used for:

  • Account-related communication

  • Occasional updates related to Ask Dr. Linq

You can opt out of these communications at any time.

We do not sell or share your email with third parties.

These services have their own privacy practices. We do not share personal relationship data with third-party advertising services.

13.  Age Guidance

Ask Dr. Linq is intended primarily for users who are 18 years of age or older. The app discusses relationships, dating behavior, emotional situations, interpersonal dynamics, and other topics that may be considered mature in nature.

Because of the mature subject matter discussed within the app, users under the age of 18 should not use Ask Dr. Linq without the knowledge, supervision, and approval of a parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians are encouraged to review the app and determine whether its content is appropriate for their child.

By creating an account or using Ask Dr. Linq, users acknowledge that they have read and understand this Age Guidance section and agree to use the app responsibly.

14. Not Professional Advice

Ask Dr. Linq provides intelligent relationship insight and emotional perspective tools.

The app is not a replacement for legal advice, medical advice, therapy, counseling, emergency services, or professional mental health care.

Use personal judgment when interpreting app-generated insights.

15. SMS & Backup Security

Ask Dr. Linq may use SMS only for backup account recovery or security-related verification connected to a trusted backup phone number.

These messages are:

  • Triggered only when account recovery or security confirmation is needed

  • Non-recurring

  • Not promotional

  • Not marketing-related

Standard message and data rates may apply.

16. Personal Response Service

Ask Dr. Linq offers an optional personalized response service delivered through email.

When using this feature, users may voluntarily submit relationship stories, emotional experiences, screenshots, or other personal information for the purpose of receiving a written personalized response.

Payments for this service are securely processed through Stripe. Ask Dr. Linq does not store or see full payment card details.

Information submitted through this feature is used only to review, prepare, and deliver the requested response.

Priority upgrades affect response queue placement only and do not guarantee a specific outcome or emotional result.

17. Push Notifications

If you allow notifications, Ask Dr. Linq may send push notifications to your device. Notifications are always optional - you choose whether to enable them, and you can turn them off at any time.

Notifications may include:

  • Credit updates, such as when a free response credit becomes available

  • Account and security alerts, such as sign-in or recovery activity

  • Subscription and billing updates, such as renewal or expiry issues

  • Gentle reminders about tracked situations that have been inactive

  • Occasional new-feature or app updates (limited in frequency)

  • To deliver notifications, we store a device notification token tied to your account. We do not include sensitive relationship details in notification text, so previews stay private on your lock screen.

Account and security notifications are essential and are always sent while notifications are enabled. Credit, reminder, and feature-update notifications can be turned on or off individually in Account Settings, and you can disable all notifications from your device settings at any time.

18. Updates

This policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be reflected on this page.
